FAQs

What kind of construction do you specialize in?

We routinely work on estates, second homes, country properties, and hunting camps. We love working with customers who have second homes or customers who are retiring to the country to live on their farm. We also do custom homes, renovations, and boutique commercial construction.

Are renovations really like how they seem on TV?

Not at all. Most people have really unrealistic expectations because they see homes that get remodeled on a TV show in a month, and that’s not how it really works.

For example, people think that our subs or our guys should be on a job site every day once their project has started, and that’s just not how the industry works. We have dozens of projects going on at any given time, and our guys work all across the state while they’re waiting on materials, scheduling, or something else. Sometimes, work can happen really, really quickly, and then it looks like nothing is happening for weeks. That’s normal. The work happens in spurts.

How long does it take to start/finish a house?

It depends. Do you already have plans from a designer and/or an architect? It can take 6-8 months sometimes—especially on custom homes—to work out the kinks before you can even get started on the project. So even if you have the plans, there’s a lot of groundwork that has to be laid before you can start the project and break ground.

What helps projects go smoothly?

Having the right team in place, including designers and architects, is key. As your builder, our sole job is to bring your plans to life. The best customers make decisive decisions, respond to questions quickly, pay invoices on time, and rely on their design team to help them through the process.

What’s a dream project for you?

I’ve always wanted to build a brewery. Working on a well-funded historic registry project would be awesome as well. I love the idea of working on something old and cool, and fixing it up and making it nice again. Make it the way it used to be where it’ll last a little bit longer. That kind of stuff is important to me.
